Schedule Notes

Frequency based on KSOP Tanjungpinang data (July 2026): every 30 minutes from 07:30 to 17:30 WIB from the Tanjung Pinang side. Fares are around IDR 80,000–100,000 per person (indicative; prices change with fuel costs — verify at the counter).

Batam to Tanjung Pinang by Speedboat

The speedboat service from Telaga Punggur to Sri Bintan Pura (Tanjung Pinang) is the usual way to travel between Batam and Tanjung Pinang, and the natural starting point for exploring Bintan's southern half. Boats leave every 30 minutes from about 07:30 to 17:30 WIB, and the crossing takes about an hour.

Multiple operators run the same route — take whichever boat is leaving next. Walk-in tickets are available at the operator counters inside Telaga Punggur terminal.

Fares

Around IDR 80,000–100,000 per person one way, based on available data. Fares can change with fuel prices, so ask at the counter for the current figure on the day of travel.

Getting There

Telaga Punggur Ferry Terminal is on the south-east side of Batam, about 45–60 minutes by Grab from Nagoya Hill or Batam Centre. The terminal handles both the ASDP ro-ro ferry to Tanjung Uban (a separate building) and these speedboat services to Tanjung Pinang.

What to See in Tanjung Pinang

Sri Bintan Pura terminal is right in Tanjung Pinang city. From there, take a short pompong (a traditional wooden boat, around IDR 10,000) to Pulau Penyengat — a small island with an 18th-century Sultan's palace, a yellow mosque built with egg whites in the mortar, and atmospheric ruins. A day trip from Batam combining this speedboat with Penyengat is very feasible.

Tanjung Pinang is also the commercial hub for southern Bintan and a departure point for onward travel to other Riau Islands.

Return Journey

Return speedboats from Sri Bintan Pura to Telaga Punggur operate on the same frequency. Buy your return ticket at the Sri Bintan Pura terminal on the day of travel.
