Sekupang: The West Batam Gateway

Sekupang Ferry Terminal is the gateway to Batam's Waterfront City resort strip, where you'll find Holiday Inn Resort Batam by IHG, Harris Resort Waterfront, and Tempat Senang Boutique Hotel & Spa. The terminal is quieter and less congested than Batam Centre, making it a more relaxed arrival experience — particularly useful on busy weekends.

From the Sekupang terminal, most Waterfront City resorts are 15–20 minutes away by Grab or taxi. The fare runs IDR 30,000–50,000 (approximately SGD 2.50–4.50). Resort shuttles are available from Holiday Inn and Harris on request — confirm at the time of booking.

Operators on This Route

As of July 2026, all HarbourFront ferry operators have relocated to the Singapore Cruise Centre at 5 HarbourFront Avenue — BatamFast from 7 July, Sindo and Majestic from 15 July. Access is via HarbourFront MRT Exit B with a sheltered walkway, approximately the same distance as the previous counter location.

Sindo Ferry offers the lowest base fare at SGD 28 plus the SGD 10 Singapore Passenger Departure Fee, giving a total of approximately SGD 38 one-way. They run around nine departures per day from HarbourFront, with first sailing at approximately 08:30 SG time and last at approximately 20:30.

BatamFast also serves this route with around five daily departures. Majestic Fast Ferry operates a more limited schedule of approximately five weekly sailings. Note that as of 12 March 2026, Majestic charges an additional SGD 6 fuel surcharge for departures from Singapore — factor this into your price comparison.

First departure from HarbourFront is approximately 08:30 (Sindo) or 08:45 (Majestic). Last departure is approximately 20:40 (Majestic/BatamFast). Sailings are available daily including weekends and public holidays. Verify current times on operator websites before travel, as schedules are updated seasonally.

Booking Tips

Book two to three days in advance for Friday evening and Saturday morning sailings, which are popular with resort-goers. Arrive at least 45 minutes before departure to allow time for check-in and Singapore immigration at HarbourFront. Sindo Ferry is typically the cheapest option on this route — verify the all-in price on the booking platform before purchasing.

Return Journey

Return sailings from Sekupang to HarbourFront operate on a similar schedule. Sindo Ferry departures from Batam run approximately 06:00–18:30 WIB. BatamFast return times vary — check the operator website for the current Batam-side schedule. The Batam Terminal Fee of IDR 100,000 applies to all departures from Sekupang.
