Sindo Ferry publishes 2 departures per direction on the public schedule (typically 10:00 and 14:10 SGT from HarbourFront), with additional sailings on weekends and Singapore public holidays. Weekday service is very limited — always verify on sindoferry.com.sg before booking, especially mid-week.
Weekend Gateway to Waterfront City
Sindo Ferry operates a direct weekend-only service from HarbourFront to Waterfront Ferry Terminal (also known as Marina City Terminal), making it the most convenient option for resort stays at Harris Resort Waterfront and Holiday Inn Resort Batam by IHG. The service is exclusive to Sindo Ferry and not available on weekdays — if you're travelling mid-week, the HarbourFront–Sekupang route is your nearest alternative.
Harris Resort Waterfront is approximately two minutes by Grab from the Waterfront terminal. Holiday Inn Resort Batam is around 10 minutes. Waterfront City Mall is within walking distance. The terminal area is quiet and well-organised, making it an unusually relaxed arrival for Batam's resort guests.
Schedule & Availability
Sindo Ferry runs three to four departures per day from HarbourFront on Saturdays, Sundays and Singapore public holidays. Seats are limited on this route and sell out quickly for Saturday departures. Check sindoferry.com.sg for the current weekend schedule before booking — times can shift between seasons.
Getting Around from Waterfront Terminal
Harris Resort Waterfront: approximately two minutes by Grab, IDR 10,000–15,000. Holiday Inn Resort Batam (Jl. KH. Ahmad Dahlan area): approximately 10 minutes, IDR 25,000–35,000. Waterfront City Mall: walkable from the terminal in under five minutes. Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall is approximately 25 minutes by Grab.
Booking Tips
Book both legs at the time of purchase. Return slots on Sunday evenings sell out quickly, particularly on long weekends. If the Waterfront weekend ferry is fully booked, an alternative is the HarbourFront–Sekupang route (daily), followed by a Grab to your resort, which adds approximately 20 minutes.
Return Journey
Sindo Ferry return sailings from Waterfront Terminal to HarbourFront follow the same weekend-only schedule. The Batam Terminal Fee (IDR 100,000) and Singapore Passenger Departure Fee (SGD 10) apply on return. Arrive at the terminal at least 30 minutes before departure.
